From August to September 2026, the WEIJIA Automobile team traveled to Moldova and Albania to explore the growing market for Chinese cars in Eastern Europe. The trip focused on local dealers, automotive importers, Chinese brands, and demand for new energy vehicles.
The journey began in Chișinău, the capital of Moldova. From August 21 to 29, the team participated in China Expo Auto, Mobility & Agrotech 2026. Following the exhibition, we visited local automotive dealers, importers, and trading companies to gain a deeper understanding of the Moldovan automotive market.

The Moldova trip was not only an opportunity to develop new business relationships, but also an important step in understanding the real needs of the Eastern European automotive market.
During our time in Chișinău, we visited automotive companies of different sizes and business models. These ranged from traditional European vehicle dealers to professional importers already sourcing new energy vehicles directly from China, as well as emerging companies preparing to enter the Chinese vehicle business.

Each company had different priorities, providing us with valuable first-hand insights into how Chinese cars are being received in the local market.
Our discussions showed that Moldovan customers have a strong interest in SUVs, crossovers, high-specification vehicles, and models offering strong value for money. Compared with fully electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles—particularly plug-in hybrids—currently attract greater attention in the market.
Chinese brands such as BYD and Geely have already gained recognition, while premium new energy brands including ZEEKR, Li Auto, and AVATR are also attracting increasing interest from local dealers.
After completing our Moldova visit, the team traveled to Albania on August 29, continuing the market research in Tirana and Durrës.
In Albania, our focus shifted further toward face-to-face meetings with Chinese vehicle importers and new energy vehicle dealers.
Although Albania is a relatively small automotive market, the rapid growth of new energy vehicles—especially fully electric vehicles—made a strong impression on our team.
On the streets of Tirana and inside local showrooms, Chinese cars are already becoming a familiar sight. Brands including BYD, XPENG, ZEEKR, AVATR, and AION are present in real-world sales and customer-use scenarios.
Local buyers and dealers pay close attention to vehicle pricing, driving range, equipment levels, after-sales service, and warranty support. Small urban electric vehicles and new energy SUVs have emerged as two particularly noticeable demand segments.
Throughout the trip, we held in-depth discussions with several dealers that already have experience purchasing vehicles from China.
Our conversations covered vehicle selection, quotations, ocean freight, port delivery, payment terms, warranties, spare parts, and after-sales support.
Every face-to-face meeting gave us a clearer understanding of what overseas customers truly need.
For WEIJIA Automobile, international market development is not simply about shipping vehicles from China to another country.
More importantly, it means understanding the policies, consumer preferences, business practices, and distribution models of each market, identifying products that truly meet local demand, and building stable, long-term partnerships with overseas customers.
From Chișinău to Tirana, and from international automotive exhibitions to local dealer showrooms, this Eastern European journey allowed us to witness the growing presence of Chinese automobiles in overseas markets.
It also strengthened our commitment to developing deeper connections with international customers and markets.
